Around the turn of the year, leading up to our recent big planning session for upcoming Freebookings development (we have so much good stuff in store for you…), we did a customer survey to get some feedback on how Freebookings has been received so far.
The responses were overwhelmingly positive!
We got some great feedback on what features should be added to the product, and where we currently fall down. This information went straight to the top of the discussion list for the planning session where we prioritised the coming months.

“I like the idea that I can control when reservations can be made. I feel that this tool is great for an Independent Restaurant. It can do more to capture business for me now that its on my website. So for the ease of use for the guest not having to call to make a reservation, I feel it can do everything to help increase my business.”

“Having our reservations be automated.”
“Gaining customers info for mailing list and specials!”
“The emails I receive to my mobile.”
“Great service we can offer to our guest at no cost to us.”

“Being able to put the booking interface on our website, Facebook, other websites, etc. is awesome.”
“It’s free and easy to use. Makes the website seem more sophisticated and more tech-savvy.”

A few of the feedback comments we have taken to heart and intend to focus on the coming months are:
“Need to be able to download my customer emails to use for newsletters.” – This is possible today, but clearly we need to make it more obvious that it is, and easier to do.
“Taking reservations from our website is great, but it gets difficult to have online reservations in one place and phone reservations in another.”
“I only want to do online reservations for bigger parties, which I currently can’t with your system since the settings don’t allow it.”
“Over time I’d like to know if my website or Facebook Page do better in sending us reservations.”
“Since I only allow a small amount of tables to be booked online the Month overview always looks sold out, which is confusing.”
All of these things and more are now firmly on our radar as we move Freebookings forwards. We are a small team, so this won’t happen over night. Rest assured we are all committed to providing a tool that works in tune with your needs though, and after this survey we feel convinced we are on the right track!
